Karate New Zealand, through its Technical Council can offer the following services:

  1. KARATE NZ HOMOLOGATION OF EXISTING DAN GRADES

  2. KARATE NZ DAN UPGRADING BY EXAMINATION

  3. WORLD KARATE FEDERATION HOMOLOGATION OF KARATE NZ RECOGNISED DAN GRADES

  4. REGISTRATION OF DAN GRADES ON THE KARATE N Z QUALIFICATIONS REGISTER

  5. Homologation of existing Style Dan Grades. This is where the applicant has his or her Dan grade registered with Karate NZ and homologated into the Karate NZ Dan Grade register. This is a fairly simple process and all requirements for this service are shown on the application form . When processed a Karate NZ Dan Grade Certificate is issued and details entered into Karate NZ records.

  6. Upgrading by examination. There are many instances where for various reasons Karateka have no access to upgrading their Style Dan Grades through the Style system,or they may wish to upgrade directly through the Country system. Karate NZ through its Technical Council can arrange to grade applicants in their own dojo, or at a neutral venue, whichever suits the applicant. Application forms for this service are available on our website or by contacting Karate NZ.The cost for this service is available on request.

  7. World Karate Federation Homologation . The WKF will homologate Karate N Z Dan Grades. Please note that they do not homologate Style grades, only Country grades. Homologation by WKF takes place twice a year,in January and July, and applications must be received by Karate N Z by December and June respectively. Again, application forms for this service are available on our website or by contacting us. WKF then issue their certificates and enter the grade homologations in their records.

  8. Karate NZ Qualifications Register. This is the register which appears on our website and is also supplied to the Hillary Commission and Regional Sports Trusts. It is a yearly renewable register January to December and is yearly chargeable. It is well worthwhile to register on the qualifications list and we receive many requests from the public for further information on register members. Members do not have to hold a Karate NZ Dan Grade as you can register with your style grade, although many members hold both Karate NZ and WKF homologations.Again ,all information and application forms can be obtained from our site or by direct contact to our box number.

Finally, please be aware that these services are part of the ongoing effort by Karate NZ to offer more services to their members, and these services are only available to members of Financial Karate NZ clubs. If anyone requires further information, please contact us through our website,or by mail to our box number.
